Mary Jean Kane, MSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a private practice in Falls Church, VA. She practices individual, couples, and group psychotherapy with adults and older adolescents. She has a specialty in working with attachment trauma and is a Contemporary Relational Psychoanalyst. Mary Jean has trained at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis, the Washington School of Psychiatry, and the Institute for Imago Relationship Therapy. After hearing Diana Fosha speak, she became excited about the possibility of integrating the felt sense of emotions in the body into her work and actively deepening the therapeutic relationship as a way of helping individuals grow and heal. She began her AEDP journey in 2014, with the Immersion Course, then Essential Skills I and II, and undertaking individual supervision to deepen her learning. Mary Jean is a member of the AEDP Metro DC Steering Committee. AEDP dovetails beautifully with her previous psychodynamic relational training, and she recommends it to all! Mary Jean can be reached at MJKaneLCSW@gmail.com.
